D-DAY by SUGA | AGUST D

PART 1: TICKETING

I am a massive Agust D fan, I’m not much of a rap person but if there's one rapper I follow with all my heart, it’s Min Yoongi. I was fortunate enough to have been able to attend the opening show, for his first solo world tour: D-DAY. The tour was named after his debut album, which has been extremely successful in different parts of the world (I’ll talk about just the album in another blog!). The tour consisted of 25 shows with 3 more added shows in August, making it a total of 28 shows. It started in April, with the first show being on the 26th in New York, which I was fortunate enough to attend! And it ended on 25th June in Seoul, but fans were surprised with 3 more shows in August from 4th-6th.

I won’t be going into the specific details of the tour but as a fan all I can say is every leg of the tour was amazing, and every single show was breathtaking, mind-blowing, outstanding & I could go on...

Ok, so the actual purpose of today’s blog is to share my experience with D-DAY, including the ticketing process, cost, transportation, the venue, staff, &, etc. I would like to mention that I am a huge Agust D/ SUGA/ Min Yoongi fan, that being said I had decided that I would do anything and everything to get tickets to his concert. So, the day the tour was announced, on14th Feb, I signed up for the presale code on Ticketmaster along with the ARMY fan club membership on Weverse (an app for fans by Hybe labels), but the tickets didn’t go on sale until I think 2nd March, So I waited and prayed for around half a month hoping that I would get the presale code that would grant me access to the tickets for the fan verified sale. Fortunately enough, and I still consider it fate, I got the presale code! The next day, tickets were supposed to go on sale at 3 pm EST and I swear to god my anxiety was at an all-time high that entire day, I would’ve cried if I didn’t get tickets to see him (PS. I cried even after I got the tickets). The process of me buying the tickets was actually very complicated and nerve-wracking. Still, instead of explaining that I’ll tell you that I was lucky enough to get my tickets for under $500, now I know that sounds like a crazy expensive amount still but if I had tried getting tickets any later I would have had to probably spend $500+ because the prices rose up to $800 or maybe even $1000 about 10/15 minutes later during the presale itself, but all tickets for the New York shows (2 days: 26th & 27th April) still ended up getting sold out during presale and hence the other 2 sales that were supposed to take place were canceled. That’s super impressive!

Well, THAT was MY general experience with getting tickets for the SUGA | AGUST D D-DAY tour. It was my first time buying tickets for a K-POP idol, my favorite person at that, so it’s very special to me, and trust me behind the scenes of the ticketing process were beyond chaotic, it wasn’t easy (😭) but luck was truly in my favor... This turned out to be longer than expected so I’ll post more about my experience later, I hope it was an interesting and informational read! See you really soon!
