PART 2: CONCERT PREP
Hello! Welcome to another blog! today's post is part 2 of my experience with the D-DAY concert in New York, which is concert prep. There isn't much to say about this part except that the wait to see my favorite artist was unbearable. I mainly planned my fit for the outfit, my method of transportation to the venue, and how I would pay for the merch (I sadly only got an army bomb). The final part should also be out by the end of this week if my writing streak isn't hindered (fingers crossed).
Well to begin, from the time I bought the tickets until the concert day I was packed and busy, to be honest. I don't think I mentioned this before but I went to the show with 2 of my other friends so we all spent a good few days, maybe even weeks planning our fits, I had also decided that I was going to make a poster for Suga/ Agust D because I really just had to! But it really just put me through more stress than was needed (TT) literally I was so picky with the kind of surface I was going to use for it because it couldn't just be made on plain paper for me, (shoutout Michael's for always having what I need) when I finally got my 'poster paper' I of course went an extra mile and made it by hand + in Korean...yeah, that was painful. In case you're curious my poster said "Don't let go of my hand forever, I won't let go of you again either" It's from one of his songs "First Love" and you'll always find it on my monthly receptify!
So enough talk about my poster, if you're wondering about my concert fit you'll be disappointed to know that I didn't put in too much effort, I went with something simple and cute: a top and skirt paired with an oversized jacket. Now what I really overthought was how I was going to pay for merch. Basically, I got all my pocket money, which was in cash, converted into one of those visa gift cards because before the concert I got the UBS arena app and read the rules for the concert which apparently said that the venue didn't accept cash as a method of payment; If I remember correctly they accepted- Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, and Credit/ Debit card (although I later found out that they did accept cash). So, I got 2 Visa gift cards in total, with $55 in each and I was able to get $80 in my Apple wallet (shoutout Dad + my leftover money), I would also like to mention that I'm a high school student with currently no job, so I did freak out about the money part a little too much.
Ok, talking transportation, personal shoutout to my friend, I was very grateful that she and her mother were willing to drive us to the venue. To give an estimate, UBS Arena which is in New York, Long Island, is about 1 and a half hours away from my house, so it was quite a ride not going to lie...also there were about 6 people in the car we were traveling in so it was a bit uncomfortable and I wish we had gone by train instead (this blog is all about honest reviews and thoughts). But in all, you have to make compromises to get the best of it sometimes. Still grateful that my friend had us covered by giving us a ride to and from the venue.
That's about it for this post, it still ended up getting a little longer than I'd like but if you're reading the end of this, then thank you so so much, I'm only just officially getting started with this blog!
PS: I would love more comments about what you think reader, don't be shy~
